I was blowing through deer no problem with a 125gr broadhead! I remember a big mature doe I shot through both shoulders blades at 20yds. I started to increase my poundage up to 70 my fourth year and shooting the 2217 game getters. Beamens carbon arrows came out around then (92’) and my older brother tried them, but had penetration issues and stopped. My dad and brothers were both shooting higher weights and those arrows really zipped. I needed this since I was only shooting 58lbs and not the heavier popular weights. They were fluted arrows that gave less weight, and shot faster. Bought a Golden Eagle II my second year and killed my first with those Excalibur arrows. I had some penetration issues on those big PA deer and lost a monster my first year. I started out in 90’ with a hand me down darton at 50lb and Easton 1918.
